Overview

Multi-factor authentication is a security standard requiring 2 or more authentication methods when logging in to an application, email, vpn, etc.  Dunlap & Kyle is implementing new security policies to utilize multi-factor authentication and better protect our environment.  If accessing DK resources from an external network, you will be required to authenticate with 2 different security methods.

Supported Security Methods:

Domain / Network Login and Password

This is the username and password you use each day to access company resources.  When prompted for a "password" this is referring to you company password used to login to the computer, email, etc.

OTP (One-Time Passcode) - Mobile PASS+

This is a time-based code that expires every minute.  This code can be generated from your mobile device once you have completed registration and downloaded the Mobile PASS+ smartphone app.  You may also "approve" the request from the app by verifying biometrically with FaceID or fingerprint in lieu of entering the passcode.  When prompted for "passcode" this is referring to the passcode generated on your Mobile PASS+ smartphone app or E-Token

OTP (One-Time Passcode) - E-Token

This is a time-based code that expires every minute.  This code can be generated from a hardware token if you require it and your smartphone is not compatible.  You simply press the button and enter the code shown.  When prompted for "passcode" this is referring to the passcode generated on your Mobile PASS+ smartphone app or E-Token

Register Your Token

To register your hardware E-Token or Mobile PASS+ token, please consult with IT and follow the steps below once you receive the activation link:

How to Sign in with MFA (Multi-factor Authentication)

Depending on the application, enter your company email address in the username field and click to Login.

If MFA is required by the application, you will be prompted to re-enter or accept the username listed. This should be your DK email address.

Alternatively entering the username without "@dktire.com" should also be accepted.

Click Login.

When prompted for "password", this refers to your DK issued password you use each day to sign into email, PC, and many other applications.

When the application requires multi-factor authentication, you will be required to enter OTP from Mobile PASS+ app or Hardware E-Token. Use the links above and request IT issue you a token if you have not yet registered for a hardware token.

You may click Login without entering a code to receive a push notification for you to accept. This will require a biometric authentication like FaceID or fingerprint scan.

Alternatively, you may enter the OTP shown when clicking the token on your Mobile PASS+ app to reveal the code.

The code will expire within 1 minute, so you will need to enter it quickly or click the refresh icon to generate a new code.

If your smartphone does not support the Mobile PASS+ app, you may request a hardware token and press the button to reveal the time-based code.
