AIF Ports Installation Prerequisites

  • Installation files are located in two network shares depending on which environment you are in (AWS or Expedient)
    1. AWS
    2. Expedient
  • Double click the auto run file and then click “Install Dynamics AX Components”
  • Click through default settings prompts, and accept license terms
  • Do NOT use Microsoft Update when prompted
  • Click “Add or Modify Components”
  • Scroll down to “Integration Components” and click “Web Services on IIS”
  • Ensure all pre-reqs are configured successfully and proceed.
  • Once complete, reboot server as directed by installer
  • After reboot and restarting installation you will be prompted for a Business Connector Proxy Account, this is a special service account. We have an account for both prod and non-prod depending on your use case, use the appropriate account as necessary.
  • The next section will install the IIS site, typically keep everything on defaults and click next
  • When prompts for all AOS service accounts in use, the one used earlier should be visible on the list, no need to change anything just click next.
  • Installer will perform another pre-req validation, work through any errors
    1. It is normal to receive a AOS WSDL URI error due to these servers being deployed from images. There are registry remnants that reference the original VM the image was based off of that need to be adjusted with the AX Configuration tool

    8. The instance name can be found by opening the services window and finding the Microsoft Dynamics AX Object Server service, everything after the – is the instance name
    9. Leave default ports, click Apply and close AX Configuration tool
    10. Re-open the AX Configuration tool, click on the manage button again and then click “save configuration as file”.
    11. On C:\ drive of server, create folder called “AXConfigs” and save a copy of the config to this location
    12. Return to AX Configuration Tool, click manage then “Set Configuration Store” and browse to the file you just saved to “C:\AXConfigs”
    13. Open Dynamics AX to confirm new configuration connects successfully
    14. Return to pre-reqs validation window and re-validate to finish the installer.
